Both social media figures remained inside Islamabad airport for hours but were not detained due to protective bail.
RAJAB BUTT, NANIWALA RETURN TO ISLAMABAD AMID TIGHT SCRUTINY
YouTuber Rajab Butt and TikToker Nadeem Naniwala returned to Islamabad late Tuesday night, drawing significant attention due to multiple investigations currently underway against them.
Their flight touched down at New Islamabad International Airport shortly after 11pm. However, what followed was a prolonged and unusual delay inside the terminal, as both individuals remained inside the airport for several hours.
Despite the presence of law enforcement and cybercrime officials, neither was arrested, owing to protective bail already granted by the Islamabad High Court (IHC).
Hours Inside the Terminal, Exit Under Private Security
According to airport sources, both Rajab Butt and Naniwala stayed inside the arrivals area under quiet but heightened observation.
When finally allowed to leave, they exited the building surrounded by their private guards, avoiding any interaction with police or investigative officers stationed at the airport.
Airport authorities did not attempt to detain them, citing the IHC’s clear directives.
IHC Orders: No Arrest on Arrival
Earlier in the day, Justice Inam Amin Minhas heard their petition seeking protective bail.
During the hearing, the petitioners’ lawyer revealed that FIRs existed in multiple jurisdictions, including one recently lodged in Karachi.
The court granted 10-day transit (protective) bail, directing both men to approach the relevant courts within this period.
Justice Inam Amin Minhas also issued strict orders to ensure both individuals were not arrested at the airport upon their arrival in Pakistan.
Cybercrime Cases Remain Active
Rajab Butt and Naniwala are currently facing several cases related to:
- alleged misuse of a gaming app,
- cybercrime violations,
- and other digital content–related complaints.
These cases were registered by the National Cybercrime Investigation Agency in September.
Authorities confirm that investigations are ongoing and both men are expected to appear before the required courts during their bail period.
A Return Under Watch; A Case Still Unfolding
With their arrival, the spotlight now shifts to how both influencers will defend themselves in the coming days. Their protective bail gives them temporary legal cover, but their next moves and court decisions will determine how these cases evolve.
