Governance and development as tools against anti-state elements
Youth Misled by Misinformation
Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti warned on Friday that organized false narratives circulated through social media are creating a widening gap between the youth and the state. Addressing participants at the 18th Balochistan National Workshop, he said the youth are the nation’s bright future and most valuable asset.
Clarifying Historical Facts
CM Bugti emphasized the importance of informing the new generation about correct historical facts and the national narrative. He clarified that the state has never followed a policy of indiscriminate force in Balochistan and that calling limited, targeted actions a state operation distorts reality.
He added that the dreams of weakening the state through violence and chaos will never succeed, urging young people to adopt positive, fact-based thinking instead of following misleading narratives.
Dialogue and Engagement with Youth
The chief minister assured that he is ready to respond to tough questions from youth with reasoning, dialogue, and facts. He expressed willingness to engage with students at every educational institution, university, and national forum, emphasizing that dialogue is a key tool in fostering understanding and trust.
Governance as a Tool Against Extremism
CM Bugti highlighted the practical governance model being implemented in Balochistan. He noted that good governance strengthens state stability, while poor governance empowers anti-state elements. In recent years, more than 3,200 closed schools have been reopened, basic healthcare facilities have been provided in underdeveloped areas, and educational opportunities have expanded dramatically.
Scholarships and International Opportunities
The chief minister also announced that scholarships under the Benazir Bhutto Scholarship Programme are being offered to children of civilian martyrs, minorities, and transgender individuals. Students from Balochistan now have the opportunity to pursue scientific subjects at leading universities worldwide, with PhD opportunities opened in over 200 international universities.
Commitment to Province’s Betterment
CM Bugti concluded by pledging to work for the betterment of Balochistan until his last day, underlining a commitment to education, healthcare, governance, and youth engagement as cornerstones for a stable and prosperous province.
