Karachi Consumer Court Refrigerator Replacement Ordered in Landmark Consumer Rights Ruling

Karachi Consumer Court refrigerator replacement brings relief to aggrieved buyer

Karachi Consumer Court refrigerator replacement

The Karachi Consumer Court refrigerator replacement ruling has delivered decisive relief to a consumer after a faulty refrigerator, sold with a lifetime warranty, developed repeated defects within months of purchase. The Karachi Consumer Court refrigerator replacement order reinforces accountability for manufacturers and sellers under consumer protection laws.

Court Orders Compensation and Replacement

The Karachi South Consumer Protection Court accepted the consumer’s complaint against a private company and ordered it to pay Rs. 200,000 as compensation for selling a defective appliance. In addition, the court directed the company to pay Rs. 50,000 as litigation costs and replace the faulty refrigerator with a brand-new unit.

Faults Emerged Despite Lifetime Warranty

According to court records, the complainant purchased the refrigerator from Clifton after being assured that it came with a lifetime warranty. However, the appliance began developing technical faults within a few months, undermining the warranty claims made at the time of sale.

Repeated Complaints Ignored by Company

The consumer informed the court that he lodged multiple complaints and allowed several repair attempts by the company. Despite repeated assurances, the refrigerator continued to malfunction, and the company failed to replace the unit, leaving the buyer without a functional appliance.

Warranty Failure Deemed Rights Violation

After examining evidence and hearing arguments, the court ruled that the company failed to fulfill its warranty obligations. The judgment stated that refusing to replace a defective product sold under a lifetime warranty constituted a clear violation of consumer rights, warranting compensation and replacement.

Strong Message for Consumer Protection

Legal experts say the Karachi Consumer Court refrigerator replacement decision sends a strong signal to businesses that misleading warranty claims and negligence toward customer complaints will invite strict legal consequences.
