Missile Interception Near KEZAD Injures Five in Abu Dhabi

Incident comes amid rising tensions between Iran and Israel

ABU DHABI: Five people were injured and two fires erupted in Abu Dhabi on Saturday after debris from an intercepted ballistic missile fell near a major industrial zone, authorities confirmed.

Missile Interception Triggers Emergency Response

Officials stated that the incident occurred in the vicinity of Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi (KEZAD), a key logistics and industrial hub operated under AD Ports Group.

Emergency services were immediately deployed to contain two fires caused by falling debris following the missile interception. Authorities confirmed that the situation was brought under control.

Casualties and Damage

According to official statements, five individuals sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate. All injured were reported to be of Indian nationality.

No fatalities have been reported, and investigations are ongoing to assess the full extent of damage.

Regional Tensions Escalate

The incident comes amid escalating hostilities in the region. Iran has issued strong warnings following reported strikes by Israel, which Tehran claims targeted key industrial and nuclear facilities.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi warned that Iran would impose a “heavy price” in response, signaling the possibility of further escalation.

Meanwhile, Iran’s Revolutionary Guards have urged workers in facilities linked to U.S. or Israeli interests to evacuate, raising concerns over potential additional retaliatory actions.

Security Concerns Rise

The latest incident highlights growing risks to critical infrastructure across the region, particularly in strategic economic zones such as KEZAD, which play a vital role in global trade and logistics.

Authorities in the United Arab Emirates continue to monitor the situation closely while ensuring public safety and operational continuity in affected areas.
