Governor Faisal Karim Kundi administers oath to new provincial ministers at Governor’s House

PESHAWAR, October 31, 2025: A 10-member provincial cabinet of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was sworn in on Thursday at the Governor’s House in Peshawar, marking the formal establishment of the new provincial government.

The oath was administered by KP Governor Faisal Karim Kundi, with key provincial and political figures in attendance. The newly appointed ministers include a mix of experienced politicians and fresh faces, symbolizing a balance between continuity and renewal in the province’s leadership.

Composition of the New Cabinet

According to official details, the new cabinet consists of three newcomers and seven former members who have previously held portfolios in past administrations.

Two notable returnees from the cabinet of former Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur are Aqibullah, brother of PTI leader and MNA Asad Qaiser, and Faisal Tarakai, brother of MNA Shehram Tarakai.

One non-elected individual, Muzzammil Aslam, has been appointed as Adviser to the Chief Minister, underscoring the government’s intent to include technocratic expertise in its policymaking team.

Regional Representation

The cabinet reflects wide regional representation across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Members include:

  • Meena Khan Afridi (Peshawar)
  • Fazal Shakoor Khan (Charsadda)
  • Shafi Jan and Aftab Alam (Kohat)
  • Khaleequr Rehman (Nowshera)
  • Dr Amjad Ali (Swat)
  • Riaz Khan and Fakhar Jehan (Buner)
  • Taj Muhammad (Battagram)

Each has been designated advisory or ministerial responsibilities within the new setup.

Ceremony Details

The oath-taking ceremony took place at 3 pm at the Governor’s House in Peshawar. The event was attended by senior political leaders, administrative officials, and party representatives.

With the cabinet now officially formed, the provincial government is expected to focus on governance, development, and administrative reforms in the coming weeks.
