Saba Qamar Reveals Mental Stress Behind Her Heart Attack

Saba Qamar urges fans to take mental health seriously after mild heart attack

Renowned Pakistani actress Saba Qamar has revealed that extreme emotional stress recently led to heart pain and a mild heart attack, forcing her to undergo angiography.

Speaking candidly during a podcast appearance, the Case No. 9 and Pani Jaisa Pyaar star opened up about her frightening health scare, saying she had always considered herself emotionally strong until her body began reacting to years of suppressed emotions.

“Pain We Suppress Shows Up Physically”

Saba said she learned a difficult truth that unresolved pain and stress can manifest physically. “Pain and emotions we suppress eventually show up sometimes as pain attacks, anxiety, or even heart problems,” she explained.

She recalled the night of her health crisis, describing it as “painful and indescribable,” adding that the next day, doctors conducted an angiography to ensure her heart was functioning properly.

Mental Stress Can Damage the Body

Reflecting on the experience, Saba shared that she once underestimated mental health issues like anxiety and panic attacks. “I used to hear about them but never understood how real and intense they are until I faced it myself,” she said.

Doctors, she added, told her there are many reasons young people suffer heart issues, not all linked to cholesterol. “When we hold pain and stress for too long, it starts affecting different parts of the body.”

Raising Awareness About Mental Health

Saba said she chose to speak publicly to help others recognize early warning signs and to challenge the stigma surrounding mental health. “When I used to talk about my emotional state, people dismissed it, saying I had fame and money, so how could I be unhappy?”

She emphasized that mental health problems can affect anyone, regardless of fame or fortune. “It has nothing to do with wealth or success,” she concluded, urging everyone to take stress, sadness, and emotional fatigue seriously before they manifest as physical illness.
