Samiya Hijab Says Social Pressure Forced Her to Move Abroad

Samiya Hijab says “narrow-minded” attitudes made her feel unsafe and unwelcome in Pakistan.

Controversy Over TikToker’s Statement

TikTok star Samiya Hijab has stirred online debate after claiming she was forced to leave Pakistan due to the country’s “judgmental mindset.”
In a viral video circulating on social media, the influencer said her clothing has become “shorter day by day” because of “the thinking of the Pakistani nation.”

Samiya’s comments have sparked widespread reactions, with some defending her right to personal freedom and others criticizing her remarks as dismissive of cultural norms.

Blaming Public and Government Attitudes

In the now-viral clip, Samiya accused both the public and the government of pushing her out through their collective attitude.
“It’s not my fault,” she said, adding that “the nation’s narrow-minded thinking” had made her life increasingly difficult.

“The government and the people are mixed, everyone is the same inside,” she remarked, expressing deep frustration with what she described as hypocrisy and double standards in Pakistani society.

Comparison with Rajab Butt

Samiya also drew parallels between her own experience and that of YouTuber Rajab Butt, who left Pakistan earlier this year amid online controversies.
“They did the same to Rajab Butt. He also had to run away from the country,” she said, adding that both of them are “constantly running from one country to another” and living far from their families.

She described the experience as emotionally exhausting, saying that the constant mental and social pressure had forced her to seek peace abroad.

Life in Dubai and Current Status

The influencer confirmed that she is currently based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE), where she continues to post on Instagram, though her TikTok account has been made private.
While she didn’t specify whether the move was temporary or permanent, many followers speculate that the relocation was triggered by mounting online criticism and societal pressure.

Despite her remarks, Samiya continues to maintain a strong following on social media, with fans expressing mixed reactions ranging from sympathy to skepticism about her claims.
