ANP Leaders Car Damaged in Explosive Blast Near Swat Residence

Leader was on his way to a funeral when vehicle was damaged; police launch investigation.

SWAT: A roadside bomb exploded on Wednesday in Shakardara, Matta area of Swat, damaging the vehicle of Awami National Party (ANP) leader Mumtaz Ali Khan. No casualties have been confirmed so far.

According to police reports, Khan was en route to attend a funeral when the explosive, planted roughly 300 feet from his residence, detonated. The blast caused significant damage to the vehicle but fortunately did not result in injuries.

A heavy contingent of police and security personnel reached the site immediately and initiated an investigation to determine the nature and perpetrators of the attack. The authorities have cordoned off the area and are collecting evidence to trace those responsible.

No group has claimed responsibility for the incident yet. Local law enforcement has assured residents and political figures in the area that security measures will be strengthened to prevent further attacks.
