Army Chief Attributes Marka e Haq Triumph to Allah

Munir praises troops’ spirit and warns of firm response if any aggression is imposed

Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir said Pakistan’s victory in the recent conflict with India was achieved through the help of Allah. His remarks were delivered during a ceremony at the President House where King Abdullah II of Jordan received Pakistan’s highest civil award, Nishan-e-Pakistan, followed by a luncheon attended by top political leaders and diplomats.

Praise for Army Chief’s Leadership

During the presentation of the award, Field Marshal Munir became the centre of attention. Guests praised his leadership and credited him with successfully guiding the armed forces during the Marka-e-Haq operation in May. Participants described the victory as historic and lauded the army chief for his role in defending Pakistan’s sovereignty.

Victory Through Faith and Conviction

Citing Quranic verses, the Field Marshal said that Pakistan’s success was a continuation of the spirit shown by Muslim soldiers in earlier battles who overcame their enemies with faith and determination. He stated that Pakistani troops carried the same spirit in the recent confrontation with India and that the triumph was a divine blessing.

The COAS emphasized that soldiers fought with conviction and purpose, framing the victory as both a military achievement and a spiritual accomplishment.

Peaceful Nation Yet Prepared for Aggression

Field Marshal Munir reiterated that Pakistan is a peace-loving country. However, he warned that any attempt to impose war on Pakistan would be met with decisive and firm action, citing the country’s response during Marka-e-Haq as a model of preparedness and resolve.

Prominent Attendees

The ceremony was attended by President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Senate Chairman, federal ministers, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, the United States ambassador, the British High Commissioner, and other notable figures. The presence of these dignitaries highlighted the importance of the occasion and the recognition of Pakistan’s military achievements.
