The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has announced plans to appoint a Head Coach for the CDA Islamabad Cricket Team, marking a significant step toward strengthening the team’s performance in departmental, domestic, and national cricket competitions.
Officials said the initiative reflects CDA’s commitment to developing a competitive cricket structure through professional leadership and modern coaching systems.
Coach to Handle All Formats
According to the announcement, the selected head coach will be responsible for both white-ball and red-ball formats, providing comprehensive professional coaching services to the departmental team.
The role includes strategic planning, match preparation, and in-game decision-making, as well as managing training sessions before and after tournaments.

Focus on Performance and Fitness
The coach will oversee player performance evaluations, identify areas for improvement, and work closely with support staff to enhance fitness standards and skill development.
Authorities said the objective is to ensure consistent and competitive performance across all levels, from departmental cricket to national platforms.
Eligibility Criteria Defined
CDA has outlined clear eligibility requirements for the position. Candidates must possess at least a Level II cricket coaching accreditation and a minimum of two years’ coaching experience with national, franchise, or domestic teams.
Preference will be given to former international cricketers or individuals who have played more than 20 first-class matches, along with a proven track record of developing players to international standards.
Emphasis on Modern Coaching Skills
Applicants are also expected to demonstrate strong planning, management, and analytical abilities, along with familiarity with modern international coaching systems.
Effective communication skills and experience working with players from diverse backgrounds have been highlighted as essential qualities for the role.
Contract Terms and Application Process
The appointment will be made on a contract basis for an initial period of six months, with the possibility of extension based on performance and requirements. Salary will be negotiable, depending on experience and expertise.
