Seven NCCIA Officers Resign Amid Corruption Allegations in Ducky Bhai Case

Investigations reveal senior NCCIA officials allegedly accepted bribes following Ducky Bhai’s arrest.

A major shake-up has struck Pakistan’s cybercrime watchdog as seven senior officers from the Federal Investigation Agency’s National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) have tendered their resignations following serious allegations of bribery and corruption tied to the arrest of YouTuber Saad ur Rehman, widely known as Ducky Bhai.

Resignations Forwarded to Ministry of Interior

According to official sources, the resignation letters of the seven NCCIA officers have been forwarded to the Ministry of Interior by the newly appointed Director General of NCCIA, Khurram Ali. Formal approval for their dismissal is expected later this week. The resignations come amid intense scrutiny and internal investigations by the FIA and other intelligence agencies into alleged misconduct within the cybercrime wing.

Bribery Scandal Uncovered

Investigators have reportedly uncovered evidence of financial misconduct and bribery involving several senior NCCIA officials. Sources claim that following Ducky Bhai’s arrest, certain officers accepted substantial bribes to manipulate the case’s outcome. One officer is alleged to have transferred over $300,000 from Ducky Bhai’s personal account to his own before distributing the funds among colleagues.

Disappearance of Key Officers Raises Questions

The scandal took a darker turn when several officers connected to the case mysteriously disappeared, further deepening the controversy. Among those missing are Assistant Director Chaudhry Sarfraz Ahmed, Director of Operations Muhammad Usman, Assistant Director Mujtaba Zafar, Deputy Director Zawar Ahmed, Shoaib Riaz, and Sub-Inspectors Ali Raza and Yasir Ramzan.

Complaint Filed by Aroob Jatoi

The corruption case was initiated following a complaint lodged by Aroob Jatoi, the wife of Ducky Bhai. She accused the officers of extortion, bribery, and misuse of authority during and after her husband’s detention. The FIA subsequently registered a formal case against the involved officials and launched an internal investigation.

Ongoing Investigations and Recoveries

Last week, six NCCIA officers were arrested and presented before court under charges of accepting large bribes and abusing their official powers. The court granted physical remand for further interrogation. The FIA’s preliminary investigation report revealed that approximately Rs 42.5 million has so far been recovered from the accused officials.

Authorities continue to investigate the full extent of the financial transactions, with digital forensics teams tracing communication records and bank statements linked to the case. Officials have stated that more arrests and disciplinary actions are likely in the coming days.

NCCIA Under Pressure

The series of arrests, disappearances, and now resignations have placed the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency under severe public and political pressure. The Ministry of Interior is expected to review the FIA’s full report before taking final disciplinary action.

Meanwhile, the public remains divided, with many demanding accountability for corruption within law enforcement while others question the handling of the Ducky Bhai case itself.
