Expert Reveals How Kate Middleton Is Preparing Prince George for the Throne

William and Kate balance royal preparation with a normal childhood

LONDON: The increasing public presence of Prince George in 2025 is no coincidence, according to royal experts, who say the Prince and Princess of Wales are deliberately and thoughtfully preparing their eldest son for his future role as king.

A Noticeable Shift in Public Appearances

Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams says this year has marked a turning point in Prince George’s visibility at major royal events. While Prince William and Kate Middleton have traditionally limited their children’s exposure to public duties, George has appeared more frequently at high-profile engagements, drawing widespread attention.

Fitzwilliams noted that the carefully timed appearances signal a gradual transition into public life rather than a sudden immersion in royal responsibilities.

Carefully Curated Royal Training

According to Fitzwilliams, Prince George’s participation in events tied to national history and service is a deliberate step in familiarising him with the responsibilities of monarchy.

One notable appearance included attendance at a tea party for World War II veterans, held to mark the 80th anniversary of VE Day. Such events, experts say, are designed to instil an early understanding of sacrifice, tradition, and national memory.

Exposure to Service and Tradition

Prince George has also been seen at the Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall and during visits to a homeless charity, engagements that highlight both ceremonial duty and social responsibility.

Royal observers believe these appearances are selected to broaden his awareness of public service without placing excessive pressure on him at a young age.

Balancing Duty With Normal Childhood

Despite the increased visibility, Fitzwilliams emphasized that William and Kate remain committed to providing their children with a grounded and private upbringing.

From the outset, the couple has prioritised normalcy, education, and emotional stability, ensuring that George’s introduction to royal life is structured, age-appropriate, and measured.

A Deliberate Path to Kingship

Experts say Prince George is being introduced to military tradition, civic responsibility, and ceremonial customs gradually — laying the foundation for leadership while preserving his childhood.

“The process is careful and intentional,” Fitzwilliams noted, adding that the approach reflects a modern royal strategy shaped by past lessons and public scrutiny.
