Arrest for Flaunting Illegal Firearm
A TikTok creator, identified as Aqsa Matloob from Tuba Balochan village, was taken into custody on Tuesday after a video of her flaunting a firearm went viral on social media. The incident occurred in Ghumandpur, where police on routine patrol noticed Aqsa running near Toba Baloch High School carrying a blue shopping bag.
A five-member police team, led by Minchinabad SI Maqsud, stopped her for suspicious behavior. During the search, woman constable Faryal Bashir discovered an unlicensed 30-bore pistol. According to the FIR registered on December 30, Aqsa violated the Punjab Arms Ordinance by carrying the illegal weapon.
Traffic Enforcement Update:
In a separate campaign targeting traffic violations, the district police reported imposing fines exceeding Rs36 million on 12,000 violators, including 3,000 underage drivers, in collaboration with traffic authorities.
Bahawalnagar DPO Kamran Asghar shared that over the past 30 days:
- 10,035 motorcyclists were fined Rs18,606,000 for not wearing helmets.
- 3,200 vehicles were confiscated and 316 FIRs filed for traffic violations.
- FIRs and fines totaling Rs256,500 were issued against 312 violators for overloading and reckless riding.
- Rs3,669,000 in fines were imposed on 515 vehicles for smoke emissions.
- Rs4,181,000 in fines were levied on 2,187 individuals driving without a valid license.
- 783 criminal cases were registered against serious offenders under the Punjab Motor Vehicles Ordinance.
The authorities emphasized strict enforcement of safety regulations to curb illegal activities and ensure public safety.
