Centre Renews Offer for Talks with PTI, Says “Door Still Open”

Govt Signals Willingness for Political Engagement

The federal government has once again offered the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) a path back to the negotiating table, with Advisor to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah declaring that the “option of talks is still available today.”

He said the government is fully prepared to engage, provided PTI also demonstrates readiness.

“Democracy moves forward through negotiations, not prolonged deadlocks,”
Rana Sanaullah stated.

He claimed that although the PTI leadership insists it wants dialogue, “those with whom PTI wants to talk do not want to talk to it.” Despite this, he reiterated that the government’s stance remains unchanged:
“We are ready — if you are ready, then come.”

Rana Sanaullah also confirmed that political matters were discussed during Uzma Khan’s meeting with PTI founder Imran Khan, indicating renewed interest in easing the standoff.

Earlier, Imran Khan’s sister Uzma Khan briefed the media after meeting the former prime minister at Adiala Jail, saying he was in “good health” and had “fully recovered.”

She said Imran told her:

  • he did not receive any externally arranged meetings

Sources say the meeting took place in the jail conference room, arranged by prison officials after formal clearance.

Jail authorities had earlier informed Uzma about the approval and facilitated her arrival.
