Minister stresses timely processing and protocol for senior and special citizens
LAHORE November 5, 2025: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi expressed satisfaction over the working standards at the NADRA Center in Fahad Town and the Regional Passport Office in Dera Gujran, Shalamar, during a surprise visit on Wednesday to review citizen services and document processing.
Naqvi inspected ongoing procedures for issuing identity cards, passports, and other official documents, and personally interacted with citizens to assess service quality.
Citizens praise courteous staff
During the visit, citizens told the minister that staff members were cooperative, respectful, and properly guiding applicants through the process. Naqvi appreciated the officials’ behaviour and professionalism, urging them to maintain the same level of dedication.
“Citizens should not face any difficulty in obtaining their documents,” Naqvi remarked, stressing that efficiency and empathy must go hand in hand in all public dealings.
Immediate action on citizens’ complaints
The minister listened to visitors’ concerns and issued on-the-spot instructions to address issues promptly. He directed staff to expedite document processing and ensure that applicants receive their ID cards and passports without unnecessary delays.
Naqvi specifically instructed officials to prioritize the case of an elderly woman in a wheelchair, underscoring that special persons and senior citizens must be treated with “protocol and respect.”
Commitment to transparency and timely service
Emphasizing the importance of inclusivity and punctuality, Naqvi instructed that all documents be delivered strictly within the stipulated timeframe.
He reaffirmed that regular inspections would continue to ensure transparency and improve public convenience across NADRA and Passport Offices.
“Timely processing of identity cards and travel documents should remain a top priority,” he said.
