Total mpox cases in the city rise to 17
Health authorities in Lahore have confirmed two new cases of mpox in the city over the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of reported infections to 17.
According to officials, both patients tested positive during laboratory examinations and are currently receiving treatment at Mayo Hospital.
No Travel History Linked
The two patients include a 40-year-old woman and a 45-year-old man. The Lahore administration confirmed that neither individual has any recent travel history, suggesting possible local transmission.
Health officials said both patients are stable and remain under medical observation, while contact tracing efforts are underway as a precautionary measure.
Authorities Urge Vigilance, Not Panic
Officials have advised the public to remain vigilant and follow health guidelines, stressing that the situation is being closely monitored. They added that early detection and isolation remain key to preventing further spread.
