Accused alleges involvement of tenant in instigating domestic worker
Accused Claims Allegations Misleading
KARACHI: Nauman, the prime accused in the alleged torture of a domestic worker, Yasmeen Bibi, in Karachi’s Buffer Zone, has claimed that he was falsely implicated and that the viral video circulating on social media shows only a partial view of the incident.
In a video statement, Nauman, a resident of Sector 15-B, under the Gabol Town police station, insisted that the full footage would reveal the true sequence of events. He said the released clip misrepresented the situation and was shared intentionally to damage his reputation.
Alleged Conspiracy and Provocation

Nauman alleged that Yasmeen was instigated by a downstairs tenant, Mukhtiar, who had ongoing disputes with him, particularly over water supply issues, and allegedly pressured him to vacate the house. He claims Mukhtiar played a central role in provoking Yasmeen against his family.
According to Nauman, on December 10, he returned home to find Yasmeen allegedly holding his son by the mouth and physically beating him. “No father can tolerate seeing his child being tortured,” he said. In anger, he admitted to striking Yasmeen to protect his child, but emphasized that the video fails to show the full context.
He further alleged that during the altercation, Yasmeen hit and even bit him, while Mukhtiar filmed the incident instead of intervening, which Nauman claims is evidence of a conspiracy against him.
Nauman and his wife also claimed that Yasmeen had previously assaulted their son on two occasions.
Police Action and FIR
Following the incident, Nauman said he and his wife approached the Gabol Town police station, but police reportedly refused to file a case against Yasmeen, citing that no case could be registered against a woman. While the police allegedly acknowledged Nauman’s actions, they did not take further action at that time.
On December 13, Yasmeen Bibi lodged an FIR against Nauman, accusing him of assault. Nauman admitted wrongdoing in his video but claimed that Yasmeen’s side had demanded money to withdraw the complaint, which he refused to pay.
The incident has attracted significant public attention, with conflicting accounts from both parties, and the investigation is ongoing.
