PSL says existing agreements remain valid until December 31
Multan Sultans have formally raised new concerns with Pakistan Super League management, seeking clarity over contract issues and the league’s valuation report. According to sources, the franchise has sent another letter to the PSL administration demanding the updated valuation, a fresh offer letter, and an explanation for why the new contract has not been issued.
The development comes amid growing friction between the franchise and PSL authorities. The Sultans maintain that despite repeated communication, they have not been given clarity on contract terms for the upcoming cycle.
Sources confirmed that all PSL franchise agreements, including Multan Sultans’, remain valid until December 31. The PSL has not suspended or canceled the team’s existing contract. However, the updated contract was reportedly withheld because the franchise did not comply with specific policy requirements.
In the background of the dispute, the Pakistan Cricket Board had previously issued a legal notice to Multan Sultans, which franchise owner Ali Tareen reportedly tore up. Tareen has also been vocal in his criticism of PSL management on several occasions.
Meanwhile, the PCB has already issued new contracts to the other five PSL franchises Karachi Kings, Peshawar Zalmi, Islamabad United, Quetta Gladiators and Lahore Qalandars. These contracts include a twenty five percent valuation increase and a ten day deadline to sign. Sources say Multan Sultans did not fulfill the required conditions, which is why the valuation report and new offer letter were not sent.
