Zardari in Doha to Attend World Social Development Conference

Meetings planned with world leaders to promote inclusive growth and regional partnerships

DOHA November 4 2025: President Asif Ali Zardari arrived in Qatar on Tuesday for a three day official visit to attend the World Social Development Conference being held in Doha. The visit marks an important step in Pakistan’s efforts to deepen global cooperation on social welfare sustainable development and poverty alleviation.

President Zardari and his accompanying delegation were warmly received at Doha’s Hamad International Airport by senior Qatari officials and Pakistan’s Ambassador to Qatar. Upon arrival he was presented with a bouquet of flowers symbolizing the beginning of his official engagements in the Gulf nation.

Keynote Address at Global Forum

During the World Social Development Conference President Zardari is scheduled to deliver a keynote address to the international community. He will outline Pakistan’s progress in social protection health education and sustainable development while reaffirming Islamabad’s commitment to inclusive growth and human capital advancement.

According to official sources the President will emphasize the government’s focus on equitable social welfare policies that aim to reduce inequality and ensure broad based economic empowerment.

Highlighting Pakistan’s Social Protection Achievements

A major highlight of the President’s speech will be the success of the Benazir Income Support Programme BISP which he will describe as a cornerstone of Pakistan’s social protection framework.

Launched to support the most vulnerable communities BISP has significantly contributed to poverty reduction women empowerment and financial inclusion across Pakistan. President Zardari is expected to note how the programme aligns closely with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals SDGs particularly those addressing poverty gender equality and social justice.

Doha Alliance and Development Cooperation

President Zardari’s visit also focuses on advancing Pakistan’s participation in emerging global development partnerships. He will discuss the launch of initiatives such as the Doha Alliance and the Social Protection and Jobs Compact which aim to strengthen collaboration on poverty reduction and social innovation.

The President will also advocate for greater mobilization of international financial resources under frameworks like the SDG Stimulus to accelerate environmental and social transformation in developing economies.

Meetings with Global and Regional Leaders

On the sidelines of the conference President Zardari is expected to hold bilateral meetings with regional and global leaders as well as heads of international organizations. The discussions will center on strengthening Pakistan’s partnerships in areas of sustainable growth climate resilience and human development.
