PPP Reaffirms Commitment to 18th Amendment and NFC Share

PPP Sindh to Observe Zulfikar Ali Bhutto’s 98th Birth Anniversary on January 5

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Sindh has announced that the 98th birth anniversary of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto will be observed on January 5 across all district headquarters of the province. The party also reaffirmed its commitment to protecting the 18th Constitutional Amendment and safeguarding Sindh’s share under the National Finance Commission (NFC) Award.

Commemorative Events Across Sindh

PPP Sindh President Nisar Khuhro stated that district party organizations will organize tribute events in their respective areas, including cake-cutting ceremonies, to honour the party’s founder. He emphasized that democracy in Pakistan owes much to the Bhutto family and reiterated that the PPP will continue to defend the supremacy of the Constitution, Parliament, and democratic continuity.

Achievements of the Bhutto Family

Khuhro highlighted Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto’s role in making Pakistan a nuclear power and Shaheed Benazir Bhutto’s contribution to the country’s missile technology. He stressed that the people of Pakistan and its armed forces remain capable of countering any hostile threats.

Sindh’s Unity and Rights

Rejecting rumours about the creation of new provinces, Khuhro clarified that no new province will be formed in Sindh, calling such claims political point-scoring. He asserted that the PPP will continue to defend Sindh’s rights, citing past opposition to canal projects. Highlighting fiscal fairness, he said provinces should not be penalized for the Federal Board of Revenue’s (FBR) shortcomings and that the Constitution allows only for increases—not reductions—of provincial shares under the NFC.
