Dera Ismail Khan Strike Security Forces Neutralize Three TTP Operatives

ISPR highlights intensified intelligence-driven anti-terror measures in KP.

Operation in Darazinda
Security forces killed three operatives of the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in an intelligence-based operation conducted in Darazinda, on the outskirts of Dera Ismail Khan. The slain militants were reportedly involved in terrorist activities in South Punjab and Kashmir.

Identities of Slain Militants
One of the militants has been identified as Abu Darda, also known as “Hakeem,” from Muzaffargarh, Punjab. He recently appeared in a Saraiki-language TikTok video urging members of the banned Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) to join the TTP.

The second militant was linked to the newly surfaced TTP Kashmir faction and was involved in the murder of Ijaz Ahmed (alias Abu Dujana), a resident of Taunsa. Both militants reportedly moved to Afghanistan with their families in recent years. The identity of the third killed terrorist remains unconfirmed.

Background: Previous Operations
This operation follows a November 21 mission in Bannu, where security forces killed eight terrorists affiliated with the Indian-sponsored group Fitna Al Khawarij. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), these operations are part of intensified intelligence-driven campaigns aimed at dismantling terrorist networks and restricting their movements across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Strengthening Regional Security
The elimination of these high-risk militants underscores the enhanced collaboration between military and law enforcement agencies. Intelligence-based operations are designed to:

  • Disrupt terrorist networks operating in South Punjab, Kashmir, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
  • Prevent cross-border movement of militants, particularly to Afghanistan.
  • Reduce attacks on civilians and security personnel.

Implications for Counterterrorism
Targeting key recruiters, such as Abu Darda, could reduce online radicalization and the mobilization of new militants. These operations send a strong message that extremist groups face active monitoring and neutralization by Pakistan’s security apparatus.
