Suburban area of Kasi Sadiq Wah, Mailsi
An elderly woman lost her life after being brutally attacked by a pack of stray dogs in the suburban locality of Kasi Sadiq Wah on Friday, triggering fear and outrage among residents.
The victim, identified as Nazirian Bibi, was on her way home after visiting her sick daughter when she was suddenly surrounded and attacked by 15 to 20 stray dogs. The dogs reportedly mauled her repeatedly, inflicting critical injuries that caused her death at the scene.
Local residents said stray dog attacks have increased sharply in recent days, making daily life unsafe. They claimed the same group of dogs had earlier attacked several people and livestock, but despite repeated complaints, no effective action was taken by the concerned authorities.
“The situation has become extremely dangerous. Children, women, and elderly people are living in constant fear,” said a local resident, expressing frustration over official inaction.
Following the incident, Assistant Commissioner Mailsi Saad bin Khalid, DSP Chaudhry Saeed Ahmed Sial, Tehsildar Malik Abdul Hameed, and other officials visited the site and reviewed the situation.
