The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released its latest Test player rankings, confirming India’s Jasprit Bumrah as the world’s top-ranked Test bowler, while England’s Joe Root continues his commanding run at the summit of the batting rankings.

The updated standings reflect recent performances across international Test matches, with several players from Pakistan, England, Australia, and India making notable progress.

Bumrah Maintains Bowling Supremacy

India’s premier fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has successfully retained his number one position in the ICC Test bowling rankings, reinforcing his status as the most impactful red-ball bowler in world cricket.

Australia’s Mitchell Starc climbed one spot to second place, continuing to showcase his consistency and experience at the highest level. Pakistan’s Nauman Ali registered a strong rise, moving up two positions to claim third place, highlighting his effectiveness in recent Test outings.

Among other notable movers, Australia’s Gus Atkinson jumped three spots to seventh, while England’s Brydon Carse recorded one of the biggest leaps, climbing six positions to 23rd.

Pakistan and England Bowlers on the Rise

Pakistan’s bowling unit showed encouraging depth in the latest update. Shaheen Shah Afridi improved his ranking to 24th, Mohammad Abbas moved up to 28th, and Sajid Khan climbed to 29th, reflecting consistent performances across conditions.

England’s pace prospect Josh Tongue also gained momentum, rising 13 places to reach the 30th position in the bowling charts.

Root Continues Batting Dominance

In the batting rankings, Joe Root remains firmly in control at the top, extending his reign as the world’s leading Test batsman. His sustained excellence has kept England at the forefront of the batting charts.

Teammate Harry Brook continued his upward trajectory, climbing three places to secure second position, underlining his rapid rise as a key figure in England’s Test lineup.

Pakistan’s Saud Shakeel also made positive progress, moving up one spot to ninth, marking an important achievement for the dependable middle-order batsman.
